ICT project at hayes park primary
Hayes Park Primary decided to move their existing ICT suite to another more suitable location in a nearby classroom. The old suite had 16 computers and these were replaced with 32 new machines.
In the old suite the computers were placed around the room which made it difficult for the children to see the electronic whiteboard without having to swivel round on their seats.
The computers were large and the keyboards and mice had to be accommodated on a tray underneath the worktops. This meant that for younger children the monitors were placed in a rather high position.
The new suite was built for 30 computers and as Dell all-in-one machines were chosen narrow worktops were fitted. This meant that there was plenty of space between the isles for teachers/adults to move around the room. As a result the room does not in any way feel cramped.
All the computers are fitted so that all 30 children were able to see the electronic whiteboard without having to turn round.
As 30 computers were being fitted in the room air conditioning was added.
